Job description

As the Director of Quality, Compliance, and Manufacturing Engineering, you will :

  • Implement and uphold quality and compliance standards and processes.
  • Lead local Asia manufacturing and quality teams to ensure product quality and production continuity.
  • Act as the engineering and quality contact point for Asian contract manufacturers during mass production.
  • Drive resolutions for various manufacturing line issues with Asian manufacturing partners and their suppliers.
  • Enhance production yield and throughput / UPH (units per hour) to improve quality and reduce cycle time and cost.
  • Manage a supplier corrective action system, conduct on-site visits, and hold regular meetings to address supplier quality issues, monitoring changes through the PC (product / process change notification) platform.
  • Foster positive relationships with Asian contract manufacturers and component suppliers.
  • Conduct quality audits and participate in supplier selection with Supplier Management and engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with and provide leadership for the compliance team and Supplier Quality Engineers.
  • Meet or exceed customer quality expectations and advocate for tools that ensure quality, alongside continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives.
  • Utilize knowledge of customer concerns and requirements to collaborate with engineering, production, and customer service in the early stages, enabling the development / specification of robust design and manufacturing processes for delivering world-class products.
  • Effectively initiate and support process enhancement initiatives to maintain a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Provide leadership support, training, and guidance to all company personnel.

Requirements : ​

  • Possesses knowledge and comprehension of Consumer Electronics (CE) space and familiarity with CEC regulations, along with a grasp of regulatory compliance standards pertinent to CE (UL, ISO, etc.).
  • Proficient in establishing and driving applicable ISO standards and best practice processes across operations.
  • Extensive experience in quality assurance and compliance, with a track record of successfully implementing these aspects throughout the organization.
  • Familiarity with establishing and maintaining effective Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain new product development and supplier bring-up quality systems, including strategic planning, tactical implementation, and oversight for improved operational and quality metrics.
  • Ensures the implementation of systems and processes, promoting effective inter- and intradepartmental communication to achieve tasks accurately on the first attempt.
  • Successful development and execution of a quality strategy in manufacturing operations and a JDM (Joint Design and Manufacturing) environment, providing Manufacturing Engineering and Supplier Quality solutions.
  • Exhibits a high energy level and enthusiasm, serving as an example for the department through personal commitment and drive.
  • Critical Thinking - Capable of working in uncharted areas, integrating extensive information to address complex issues. Challenges conventional wisdom as needed, demonstrating intellectual aggressiveness with a strong focus on the end product.

  • Holds a BS or BA degree with over 10 years of experience in a similar role, with at least five of those years in a management position.
