Application Engineering Manager -MCU

Specific duties of this role:

• Lead and mentor a team of application engineers in Taiwan and Korea to provide exceptional technical support to customers using Renesas MCU products.
• Help define and implement MCU related customer support strategy for the greater APAC regions to enable both pre and post sales opportunities.
• Play a hands-on role to understand and articulate Renesas MCU solutions and value proposition that meet customer needs.
• Determine customer requirements and expectations and proactively recommend products, solutions, and services needed to develop their end user applications.
• Coordinate closely with local Sales/FAE teams to support their sales goals.
• Serve as a technical expert on Renesas MCU products, providing guidance and training to internal teams and customers as needed.
• Drive the development of solutions and Proof-of-Concept designs to showcase capabilities of Renesas MCU products.
• Help develop new business by analyzing customer feedback and market trends to identify areas for product/solution improvement and new solutions.
• Manage customer escalations and coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Manage application engineering projects with partners and design houses.
• Stay updated on industry technical trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to provide insights and recommendations in engineering for MCU product roadmap.

Qualifications

Education:

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering. (MS preferred)

Requirements are:

• 8+ years of experience in application engineering for ARM and/or Proprietary MCU-based embedded products and systems.
• 3+ years of experience in team/project management.
• Excellent leadership and technical communication skills
• Proven track record of driving customer satisfaction and delivering results in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Comfortable to adapt and change to an uncertain environment.
• Solid technical knowledge and hands-on experience with MCUs for RTOS based embedded systems.
• Good understanding of hardware design and schematic related to MCU.
• Global work experience with cross-functional foreign team members.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English and proactive, can-do attitude
• Travel requirement: 25%

Desirable experience:

• Experience with Renesas MCU products or similar semiconductor products.
• Experience in IoT connectivity system integration and network protocols.
• Experience in Real-time control and Industrial Ethernet applications.
• Experience in High-end HMI, Video codec, Embedded Artificial Intelligence applications.
• Good understanding of Security protocols and secure software design methods.
