Summary
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. The engineer shall be proactively engaging with the group of targeted customers to understand their simulation-driven product development goals and workflow, and provide them with customized support to significantly impact on software revenue. A key element of this role is to provide expert technical guidance on the use of Ansys’ Automation, Optimization and AI / ML-based solutions. You will be working within multi-disciplinary teams to create pervasive simulation solutions, advance your industry knowledge, and grow the business impact. You will support customers throughout the entire sales cycle, helping them successfully adopt these advanced technologies and related Ansys products.
Key Responsibilities
Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, negotiate technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows; analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys’ value proposition
- Assist in creating differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys tools and technologies; deploy the solutions within customers’ design workflows
- Participate in corporate initiatives to further enhance the solution suites, presales / sales enablement and professional growth; actively participate in the development and mentoring of team members.
- Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features; test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems, and develop application best practices
- Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author conference presentations
- Contribute to consulting services, instruct intermediate and / or advanced training classes on the usage of ANSYS products to improve customers’ productivity and satisfaction with ANSYS simulation products.
Minimum Qualifications
Required education and degree type : BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical / Chemical / Aerospace / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related fieldRequired minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment : BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packagesDemonstrated skills in tool chaining, workflow customization, and automationStrong knowledge and experience with the design of experiments and optimizationHands-on experience with Process Integration and Design Optimization platforms and software packages such as Ansys optiSLang, Ansys ModelCenter, or equivalentDemonstrated skills in scripting / programming languages : Python, C / C++, Java, C#, etc.Demonstrated knowledge of AI / ML technologies, including Reduced Order Modeling (response surfaces, surrogate or meta models) in engineering analysis and simulationLogical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solutions to the customerStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers.Strong organizational and time management skills, possess a sense of urgencyProjects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeedAbility to travel domestically up to 20% of the timePreferred Qualifications
Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment : BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3
2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services, type customer facing roles using engineering softwareExperience in industry, namely in AI / ML technologies, simulation, and / or design processesAbility to introduce new concepts and novel solutions and their values to customer as made available in the Ansys technology portfolioAbility to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executivesDemonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate these into engineering solution requirements and execution plan that delivers value and meets business goals.Experience with architecting and developing complex and multidisciplinary engineering solutions and deploying those solutions within customers’ engineering workflowsStrong knowledge and experience of Model Based Engineering (MBE) solutions like digital twins, ROMs, automation, optimization, and MBSE leveraging multiple Ansys products and technologies including Ansys ModelCenter, Ansys optiSLang, Ansys TwinBuilder etc.Experience with Fluid / Structural / Electronics simulation background will be preferred.Knowledge of maintaining simulation workflows on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), HPC clusters, and physical servers. Experience with the use of CAD software is a plus.
