The AWS Public Policy team leads efforts to help customers maximize the benefits of cloud computing and AI by removing regulatory and policy barriers to adoption and shaping policy frameworks. The team also supports and facilitates the expansion of cloud infrastructure and services.
AWS is seeking a talented, experienced, and innovative individual to develop and drive regional regulatory policy advocacy strategy, including representation before policymakers and regulators in cybersecurity and resilience policy areas. The role focuses on policies and regulations related to cybersecurity and resilience of cloud services, as well as infrastructure regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating favorable policies and regulations to promote AWS's business interests, and developing strategies to demonstrate the cybersecurity, resilience, and innovation potential of cloud computing to regulators.
Key job responsibilities
This Taiwan-based position reports to the AWS Head of Public Policy for Regulated Industries and Regulatory Strategy, APJ, and includes the following responsibilities :
- In coordination with Public Policy teams, develop and execute policy advocacy strategies that mitigate regulatory policy risks to the business and advance business opportunities;
- Support cloud infrastructure and services expansion in Taiwan, where necessary engaging respective policymakers and regulators;
- Develop external messaging, talking points, and narratives on AWS’ regulatory policy priorities; support the drafting and submission of AWS’ policy position papers and represent the views of AWS before governments, regulatory, and legislative bodies;
- Work with APJ Public Policy teams to proactively build and advance relationships with key policymakers, regulators and decision makers;
- Build up relationships with respective regional industry associations, inter-governmental agencies, academia, other industry thought leaders, and drive direct and indirect engagements to promote cloud friendly policies;
- Drive long term strategic thinking and thought leadership in the (cyber)security, resilience and infrastructure policy spaces, including organizing policy campaigns and events;
- Facilitate high-level meetings between AWS executives and key stakeholders, including senior government officials, regulators, industry associations and partners to promote and advocate the company’s policy priorities.
The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, passionate about cloud technology and (cyber)security, thrive on continuous challenges, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations. They should have public policy experience with proven success in advocacy initiatives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years representing a large company, association, or consulting firm, or serving as a policymaker or regulator, with demonstrated experience in managing public policy and / or regulatory advocacy initiatives.A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline;Fluency in both English and Mandarin.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
