Sr Software Engineer, D&T-IOT Application Developer

Job Summary

In this role, as a senior software engineer with a focus on the backend development, you will design, develop, document, test, and enhance highly available, distributed, scalable, and secure computer systems and platforms with an emphasis on Internet of Things Applications in the Health/Medical Industry, Factory Automation, Digital Manufacturing Orchestration, and other team initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with internal/external stakeholders to understand business needs and translate to technical designs
• Execute full lifecycle software development, including quality compliance
• Write well-designed, self-documented, testable, performant, secure, and efficient code
• Design and implement new software features with frequent reviews from stakeholders
• Research emerging technologies to create and maintain competitive advantage
• Contribute to the continued improvement of standards, tooling, and processes
• Create prototype solutions that explore innovative ideas
• Participate in cross-team technical discussions
• Participate in daily standup meetings
• Participate in code reviews
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or above. required

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years Of experience in software development environment with technical software engineering experiences (design, coding, testing) required and
  Fluent in Node.js and other modern programming languages .
• Software development or engineering experience with medical device or other regulated field. required and In-depth experience with agile development practices
• Solid experience with TypeScript, NodeJS, and PostgreSQL for backend development
• Experience with IoT (Internet of Things) device connectivity is a good asset
• Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) validation, Medical Regulatory Approval processes are a big plus
  Ability to work in a global and virtual environment
• Ability to lead a team of software engineers through the entire software lifecycle
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent written, critical reading, and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and thrive in fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills including root cause failure analysis methods
• Proficient in statistical software, Windows OS, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
• Be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they relate to this role

10%: Up to 26 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
