POSITION PURPOSE
The Manager, Supply Chain Management – Taiwan, Hong Kong & Selected Asian Markets leads end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand / supply planning, logistics, inventory, and distributor coordination, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and high service levels. This role is also the primary process owner for the SAP SDMM Model across Asia, overseeing its design, governance, and continuous improvement to ensure standardization, scalability, and alignment with global frameworks and local needs. You'll bridge business and IT, translating supply chain requirements into SAP functionalities, leading projects, and fostering digital transformation. This critical position ensures product availability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and supports business growth while enhancing Santen's digital supply chain capabilities in Asia.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supply Chain Management – Taiwan, Hong Kong & Selected Asian
- Oversee daily supply operations, inventory, and distributor management to meet customer service levels.
- Lead demand and supply planning, including IBP processes, to ensure stable product supply and prevent stock-outs.
- Manage new product launch readiness and develop local supply chain strategies, including RFQ processes.
- Optimize local supply chain processes, manage sales orders, and coordinate inbound logistics.
- Prepare management reports and KPIs, create SOPs, and lead cross-functional projects (e.g., NPI, distributor changes).
- Manage local SCM budgets and support Name Patient Programs (NPP).
SAP SDMM Process Ownership (Asia)
Serve as the primary SAP SDMM subject matter expert for Asia, ensuring consistent and efficient process execution.Lead the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of SAP SDMM processes, aligning with global standards and regional needs.Translate operational requirements into SAP functionalities, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules.Govern master data integrity for materials, customers, and vendors, ensuring compliance.Lead issue resolution, develop documentation, and deliver training for SAP SDMM.Drive digital transformation, monitor system performance, and represent Asia in global SAP forums.Ensure SAP SDMM processes meet internal control and external regulatory standards (e.g., GDP, GMP).Demand & Supply Planning
Lead forecasting, incorporating historical trends and market insights, and manage the monthly Demand Planning consensus meeting.Collaborate with Sales, Marketing to drive process improvement and measure / report forecast accuracy.Plan order proposal to ensure supply meet forecasted demand and with reasonable inventory levelCoordinate with regional supply chain team to ensure on time delivery of products.Monthly KPI performance analysis reporting to regional teamIntegrated Business Planning (IBP)
Lead monthly IBP meetings to review market performance, supply update, variation progress, phase in / out strategyMonitor inventory at distributor level, report on potential stock-outs, and manage obsolescence plans.Purchase Order Management
Order placement, verify and track purchase orders, and ensure fulfillment status.Product Launch Excellence
Proactively track MA approval timelines and coordinate launch activities with cross-functional teams.Ensure supply readiness and track artwork / production status.Inbound Logistics
Coordinate with forwarders, Customs agency and distributors for timely customs clearance and delivery.Verify shipping documents, product shelf life, shipping expensesInventory Management
Perform finished goods inventory planning and reporting (e.g., short-dated, aging, damaged goods).Monitor stock movement at distributors and reconcile inventory reports.Distributor Management
Develop KPIs for distributor performance, lead monthly business reviews, and manage master data and stock destruction.Verify and approve distributor expensesGeneral Tasks
Update SOPs, support SCM / Logistics projects and data analysis.Coordinate and support local customer requests, assist in GDP audits and stock-takes.Verify billings from service providers related to Supply Chain costQualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, or related field.Experience : 10+ years in Supply Chain Management (healthcare / pharma / life sciences), with 5+ years in a regional leadership role.Supply Chain Expertise : Proven hands-on experience in end-to-end supply chain operations (demand supply planning , logistics, warehousing, customer fulfillment).SAP SDMM : Deep expertise in SAP SDMM modules (configuration, process mapping, integration with FI, CO, QM, PP).ERP Governance : Demonstrated experience in ERP system governance, process ownership, change management, and multi-country user support.Data Management : Strong understanding of master data management, transactional flows, and SAP compliance.SAP Projects : Experience leading / participating in SAP implementation, rollout, or upgrade projects (UAT, training, post-go-live).Digital Transformation : Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives (automation, analytics, system integration).Project Management : Strong project management skills for cross-functional initiatives (IT, commercial, regulatory, finance).S&OP : Experience leading S&OP processes and aligning supply chain strategies with commercial objectives.Regulatory Knowledge : Solid knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain regulatory, legal, quality, and financial frameworks (cGMP, GDP).Tools : Proficiency in demand planning tools, ERP / MRP systems (SAP IBP / APO a plus), advanced Excel, PowerPoint.Certifications : APICS certification (CSCP or CPIM) preferred.Skills : Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate cross-culturally.Travel : Ability to travel regionally up to 10%.
